SARUNI KIMIRI

One may think that life has been smooth with the above pictured boy. No, what you now see is what the Leigh Day orphan fund has done in the life of this previously desperate Maasai orphan.

Saruni was born in 1994 at Loisukut village not far from Doldol town. His father, Lodaru Kimiri, died before he was born. Saruni was left under the care of his mother, Teresia, who died when Kimiri was only 11 years of age. Days of misery began and life has been tough all through.

Saruni is currently in Doldol boys High school. He has been in the sponsorship programme for three years, one year in primary school and two years in secondary school. He has been in the frontline in his class. Kimiri is working hard to make it to the university. He wants to study environment. He treasures nature
