WANJIKU NANGUNYE
Wanjiku was born at Doldol in 1998. She lost her dear father at the age of three and half years. Wanjiku and her brother were left with their mother. Life was very difficult for them. Food was never enough and sleep was interrupted by bedbugs. "Even in the height of such suffering, death did not sympathize but arrogantly took my mother. She was my only comfort. She was the one I cried to when hungry. Tell me! Was death not so unfair?" asks Wanjiku as she narrated to us about herself.
Her mother died in the year 2005. She was then seven years old. She was left with her old grandmother. Poverty sharpened its axe. Life was very miserable by the time we enrolled her. She was nine years old and in class two. Wanjiku has been very much determined in his class work. Though she performed poorly in her lower primary education she has recorded very good performance in de upper primary. Wanjiku wants to be a doctor in future.
