RASHUTA LENESERE
The deaths of Mr. Lesikirar Lenesere in 1997 and that of his wife Mrs. Matendi Lenesere in 2002 left Rashuta Lenesere a total orphan and under the care of his elder sister Nekaten Mboye. Rashuta was born in 1995 in Mumonyot sub location. The boy was left desperate and a destitute after the arrogant deaths of his parents. The sister/guardian is married and has her children to care for. For Rashuta hope was gone. Missing school became a common practice. The result was poor performance.
We met the desperate Rashuta at Doldol primary school. Teachers narrated to us of his despair, frustration, loneliness and anguish. Talking to Rashuta himself, we saw a desperate boy in need of a lovely moment and educational support. Back home, the obstacle that stood in his way were greater than ever before and so his education was often interrupted. He could not make it as a day scholar. He needed a boarding school.
Taking the boy to boarding school seemed to finish the obstacles that stood in his educational journey. Though he did not improve immediately, he has of late recorded great improvement. He is now in class 8 gets above average in his class examinations. He likes playing football and reading novels. His ambition is to become a broadcaster.
