PHILIP MARIPETK
Phillip and Kidi have only heard but have never seen their father. They were born in 1993 but their father died before they were born. The death of their father increased the severity of the family's poverty. The boys have grown in a dark world full of suffering including hunger, despair, anguish and lack of basic necessities.
They have one brother and four sisters who are not in school but tightly held in the chains of poverty. Their mother, Mary Loldapshi is poor and has had serious difficulties to provide the children's needs.
We enrolled Philip and Kidi into the Leigh Day orphan programme in class 6. The boys were just average performers. Now they are in class 8 and above average in class. Their performance improvement has resulted from hard work and determination. They are in Doldol boarding primary school. Kidi dreams of becoming a pilot after his education journey while Phillip wants to be a company manager. Phillip's hobbies are dancing and swimming while Kidi enjoys listening to gospel music and reading books.
