Our Programs
The Trust aspire to create links and partnership between community, regional and international levels to share, replicate and develop a foundation where instruments and other resources necessary for the protection of children are freely accessible to all.
It is therefore obliged to champion its child focus mission under the auspices of the following programs:
Education support
Education has been a major pillar to self-dependent and developed communities, the Maasai tribal people lag behind other Kenyan tribes mainly because they conform strongly to their cultural roots and also refused to educate their populations despite being among the first to interact with the colonialists. The Trust perceives provision of education to orphans and vulnerable children as one of its main activities in shaping the destiny of these children.
The programs will therefore assist OVCs pursue formal/informal education to higher levels by giving fee subsidies, Boarding facilities, guidance and counselling .
Promotion and protection of rights
Orphans and other vulnerable children lack parental guidance and care and as such being left under the mercy of relatives and the community. They are the targets of sexual harassment, child labour, child trafficking and biasness to educational support. We shall embrace the spirit of love to children and become a tower of strength for the promotion and protection of children rights at all levels.
Negotiate and advocate for exclusive favor of underprivileged nomadic children. The Trust will negotiate with goodwill supporters and other charitable organizations to erect a Nomadic Orphans The facility to enable very needy children acquire homely care and better environment for growth and Development
Capacity enhancements
The Trust will enhance the capacity of the community on child rights and OVC care and support their initiatives. It will equip the community with skills and provide them resources governing the welfare of children both at the national and international level. The Trust will work with the children department, Child welfare society of Kenya and other like minded organizations to educate the community and care givers on child rights, nutrition and care.
The Trust has already developed a proposal to solicit books and other educational materials, These resources will kept at the HOME Trust resource centre and they shall at any time be at the disposal of children and their community.
HIV and AIDS
The pandemic is the main creator of Orphans, Orphans headed households and a generation of orphans who have lost their parents as a result of AIDS and the Trust has over 40 children who had lost one or both parents to HIV and AIDS. The program will alongside its activities create awareness and educate the community on preventive measures and care to both the infected and affected groups in the community.
The organization will join hands with CACC, CBOs/NGOs and churches to ensure the government war against AIDS and the Dream towards an HIV free generation is won.
Our Management Program
The Trust has a management Board of Trustees who foresees the smooth running of the Trust and ensures its programs and operations fall under its mandate and the constitution.
Members were elected each representing the diverse sections of Laikipiak Maasai and they elect office bearers and recruit the secretariats.
The Trust holds meetings periodically to ascertain progress and commission new activities.
